        Could be how long it took for First Ascent to make its way onto TV here??

      2. Narc

        Or it could be that Carson Daly was ever famous. Take your pick.

  3. polaropposite

    or that something as spiritually rewarding as free-soloing has to be marketed in an obsolete video format and make an appearance on a washed-up MTV DJ's late night TV show before its considered socially relevant by people who walk around the mountains with mattresses strapped to their backs

  4. pretty good

    @polaroppsite:ha ha ha Well said!

    Happened to see them last night, had no idea that it was the first time it was on since all this has been available on the net forever. A few buddies were really impressed by dean's accomplishments. It was anti-climactic for them to have Sharam's spot on after dean's. I tried to explain how impressive chris climb was at clark mountain, but I guess for a non climber it is hard to top dead "free basing"

  5. disagree

    u are ignorant if you think americans are the only ones who fall under the category of people polar opposite describes. it is a very funny comment, but dont be THAT guy who says, "everything in europe is so much better" because then you would be no better. u sound like a pretentious hipster girl majoring in anthropology who has really never even been anywhere else in the world.
