One of the strongest European climbers of his generation, Verhoeven was a top competitor and route climber through the late 2000s and 2010s. He won the overall Lead World Cup in 2008, made the 4th free ascent of The Nose on El Capitan, and has continued to pursue ambitious climbing objectives.
