I can understand for safety reasons why they chose to have Mirko climb it with the gear already in place. Just maybe a little bit disappointing. Maybe not the best choice of a classic for him to climb?

Gear in place or not, he still climbed the rig clean. First. The worst you could call it is a pinkpoint, but considering Yaniro put this up before Friends and sticky rubber I would say your 'ethical' quibbling is misguided and your disappointment misplaced. Also, nice one, Mirko.
