He made that look so easy I thought, sincerely, for a second, "Psh, I could do that."

anyone want to enlighten me-- did they pinkpoint this route, or redpoint it? Or did they just preplace draws on the pitches with no natural gear placements?

I don't know for sure, but I suspect most of the hard pitches were climbed in this style.
